Hello. I'm Allison McNair. Welcome to this Friday Edition of New Hampshire Outlook. Governor Benson warns he'll veto the state legislature's budget plan - if the additional 100 million dollars approved by the senate isn't taken off the table. And in a rare published commentary he raises the spector of an income tax.
There are also questions about his financial ties with a land deal. As well as his personal assistant. One newspaper asks: Just who is Angela Blaisdell?

Who in the world is Angela Blaisdell? That question was posed in the Portsmouth Herald's Friday editorial. It's a question that's won't go away. Blaisdell serves as the personal assistant to Governor Criag Benson. It's been said she works on issues of homeland security but she is paid out of the the Governor's pocket. The seacoast newspaper called for Blaisdell's dismissal or resignation.

".despite the importance of her position and its potential impact of the health and safety of New Hampshire citizens, we know little about her qualifications, her duties or what responsibilities she actually has."
"What we do know is that Blaisdell, an attractive, young, blond woman, is privy to the inner workings of state government at the highest level."
"We are extremely concerned the governor would claim that someone working in his office, handling highly sensitive documents and charged with being New Hampshire's Homeland Security liason has no accountability to the people of this state simply because she is not being paid with public funds."
Let's go back to the beginning when and how did this all get started?
James Pindell how about this - much of an impact - looking ahead to the next Governor' race - is this the kind of thing that can end up negatively impact a candidate?

In a Union Leader Guest commentary earlier this week Benson warned that NH could end up with an income tax.
In his letter "NH is speding its way to an increase the Governor wrote" -.if we increase this budget by 13 percent, we will be digging ourselves into a hole that could only be filled by an income or sales tax."
In reponse Senator Dick Green, the Chair of the Senate Finance Committee wrote. - "In crafting the budget, the Senate Finance Committee had limited resources available for funding and had to prioritize. We belive we made the right choice to put people first."
Josh, House and Senate Finance committees meeting this week - is the threat of a veto going to force changes?
